![]() PSI has a strong research basis in the form of parent organisation the Australian Patient Safety Foundation (APSF). PSI believes that this research foundation is key to developing AIMS by ensuring the content of the software is relevant and that advances patient safety and quality. In particular, APSF research informs PSI development of the HIT-Classification schema. From its origins in anaesthesia, the APSF has been involved in research into patient safety and quality since 1986. The collection of incident data is highly developed and has resulted in a database that is unique in the world. To further the understanding of safety and quality issues in health care the APSF is committed to producing research reports based on this database. For more information about APSF research and reports visit the APSF web site www.apsf.net.au
